Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called on the Armed Forces to uphold professionalism, neutrality, and strong inter-institutional coordination to ensure participatory, fair, and fear-free national elections ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections and Referendum 2026.
He made the remarks during a views exchange meeting with senior Armed Forces officials at the Helmet Auditorium of the Army Headquarters in Dhaka, according to an ISPR press release.
Upon his arrival, Prof Yunus was received by Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, and Armed Forces Division Principal Staff Officer Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan.
At the outset of the meeting, the Chief Adviser praised the Armed Forces for their historic and responsible role in national affairs, expressing gratitude for their patience and professionalism in maintaining law and order over the years.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions on key election-related and contemporary issues, focusing on security, stability, and institutional cooperation to support a credible electoral process.
Senior officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with invited guests and members of the media, attended the session.
