Bodycams to be deployed in 30,000 polling stations

The Election Commission (EC) has announced that law enforcement agencies will deploy body-worn cameras at around 30,000 polling stations during the upcoming general and parliamentary elections.

EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed the plan to reporters at the election commission office on Monday, January 26.

He stated that between 25,000 and 30,000 body-worn cameras will be operational on election day.

In addition, the monitoring application previously used during the Puja festival will be reactivated to assist authorities in overseeing polling activities.

To support the election process, 16,000 cadets from the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) will also be deployed across the country, he added.
