A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking a directive to postpone the preliminary examination of the 50th BCS, which is scheduled to be held amid the 13th national parliamentary election campaigns.
The 50th BCS preliminary exam is set to take place on January 30.
Advocate Nazmus Sakib filed the writ with the relevant branch of the High Court on behalf of the examinees.

Meanwhile, a notice issued by the Public Service Commission (PSC) said the preliminary examination of the 50th BCS will be held simultaneously on January 30 (Friday) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at examination centres in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh.
Earlier, the notification for the 50th BCS was published on the PSC website on November 26 last year. The application process began on December 4 and concluded on December 31.
