The hanging body of a police member was recovered from Jatrabari police outpost in Dhaka on Wednesday morning, January 28.
Dead Shafiqul Islam was the son of late Abdul Mannan Mollick, 42, from Matlab North upazila in Chandpur, and would reside at the outpost's barrack.
Kausar Humayun, sub-inspector at Jatrabari police station, said they saw Shafiqul hanging in the washroom of the police outpost around 9:30 am, and later, sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Shafiqul had long suffered from a mental problem, and he had taken treatment several times, Kausar said, adding that they assume he might have committed suicide between 3:00 am and 8:30 am.
