A three-year-old boy fell into a deep tubewell hole in Raozan upazila of Chattogram on Tuesday evening.
According to local sources, the incident occurred around 4:00 pm in Joynagar village of Ward No 7, Kadalpur Union. The child has been identified as Misbah.
Upon learning of the incident, locals immediately informed the fire service.
Officer-in-Charge of Raozan Police Station, Md Sajedul Islam, told Jago News that the exact circumstances of how the child fell are not yet clear. Details about the depth of the tubewell hole are also unavailable at this time.
A video circulating on social media shows villagers attempting to rescue Misbah using bamboo sticks, with a young man heard encouraging the child to hold on.
Authorities said rescue operations are ongoing at the scene.
