BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has paid respects at the grave of Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the July mass uprising.
He visited the grave at Jafarpara Babanpur in Rangpur's Pirganj around 6:00 pm on Friday, January 30.
After offering ziarat, Tarique Rahman spoke with Abu Sayeed's family members, including his father, Makbul Hossain, and elder brother, Ramjan Ali.
At that time, BNP Standing Committee member AZM Zahid Hossain and the party's Rangpur district unit leaders were present.
Earlier, when Tarique Rahman entered Babanpur, thousands of leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organisations and common people welcomed him.
Later, he left Babanpur to attend the divisional election rally at the Collectorate Eidgah ground in Rangpur city.
Meanwhile, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is coming to Rangpur after a long time of almost two decades.
He will address the divisional election rally this late evening at the Collectorate Eidgah ground as part of the election campaign for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Elections.
