Gold prices have risen hours after a sharp fall, with the best quality gold (22-carat) surging by Tk 4,699 per bhori.
Now, 22-carat gold will cost Tk 2,59,699 per bhori, while the price of 21-carat gold rose by Tk 3,907 to Tk 2,47,918 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 3,382 to Tk 2,12,512, and traditional method gold by Tk 2,041 to Tk 1,73,910, respectively.
The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) decided to hike gold prices on Saturday, January 31, citing an increase in the prices of pure gold in the local market.
The new prices will take effect from Sunday, February 1, according to the BAJUS.
Earlier this morning, gold prices decreased, with 22-carat gold dropping by Tk 15,746 to 255,617 per bhori, a sharp decline in a single day.
