Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir cast his vote at the Thakurgaon Government Girls’ High School polling center on Thursday (12 February) around 8:00 am, saying “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.” He is contesting the Thakurgaon-1 constituency.
Speaking at the time, Mirza Fakhrul said, “After long struggles and sacrifices, this election will be free, fair, and peaceful, with participation from all. It will open a new chapter in Bangladesh.”
He added, “A new journey for democracy begins today. This election will determine the direction of Bangladesh’s future politics.”
Voting for the 13th parliamentary elections and the national referendum began nationwide at 7:30 am and will continue uninterrupted until 4:30 pm.
