Will accept whatever result comes: Mamunul Haque

Jamaat-led 11-party alliance candidate and Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Amir Maulana Mamunul Haque said he will accept the results regardless of the outcome, provided no untoward incident occurs.

He made the remarks after casting his vote at the Govt. College of Physical Education centre in Dhaka-13 constituency around 8:10 am on Thursday, February 12.

The voting environment is normal so far, and voter turnout is gradually increasing, Mamunul said.

Asked him whether he will accept the results, Mamunul replied, "If any untoward event does not happen or any artificial crisis is not created, and the election is held fairly, I will accept whatever the outcome is."

Responding to a query about rumours and irregularities in his electoral area at night, the candidate said he received reports of a few irregularities and informed the administration.

Voting in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections and the referendum is being held across the country today. Balloting began at 7:30 am and will continue to 4:30 pm.
