Independent candidate Barrister Rumeen Farhana is leading in 45 polling centres in the Brahmanbaria-2 constituency, according to results received so far, with a margin of 12,234 votes.
The information was confirmed by the Returning Officer’s office at around 9:30pm on Thursday, February 12.
Officials said the constituency has a total of 152 centres, including postal ballots.
Based on the results compiled so far, Rumeen Farhana, contesting with the duck symbol, has secured 34,460 votes.
Her closest rival, Zunaid Al Habib, contesting with the palm tree symbol, has received 23,226 votes.
