Akhtar Hossain, member secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and candidate of the 11-party alliance, is leading in the Rangpur-4 constituency, according to the latest unofficial results from the Election Commission.
Out of 163 polling centres, results from 110 centres show that Akhtar Hossain, contesting with the ‘Shapla Kali’ (water lily) symbol, has secured 99,279 votes. His closest rival, BNP candidate Emdadul Haque Borsa, has received 86,038 votes.
Voting in Rangpur-4 was conducted smoothly from 7:30am to 4:30pm on Thursday.
