Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman has alleged that vote counting has been completed in several centres across the country, but returning officers are not announcing the results.
He made the claim at an emergency press conference held at the party’s central office in Moghbazar on Thursday, February 12.
“When an election takes place, not everyone will win. Some will win, some will lose. We have certain observations that we want to present to the nation,” he said.
The Jamaat chief further alleged that despite the completion of counting in a number of centres, returning officers are withholding the results instead of making them public.
