BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan has said his party is not 100 per cent satisfied with the vote in the national elections; however, it is fairly happy.
He, also the chairman of BNP's Election Steering Committee, said this in reply to a query from journalists at Nirbachan Bhaban in Dhaka's Agargaon on Friday, February 13.
He said a tendency to refrain from voting has been seen among people for many years, and that is why they failed to bring everyone to vote. "We will turn people to vote. However, today is a significant day for Bangladesh."
About the election atmosphere, Nazrul Islam said, "It is difficult to be 100 per cent satisfied, but BNP is fairly happy."
Comparing this election with other ones, the BNP leader stated, "Many people were killed during previous polls, but nothing much happened this time by the grace of Allah."
When asked about the plan to form a national unity government with the July uprising forces, he replied, "The way you said, I did not speak in that language."
