US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on his party’s election victory, expressing Washington’s interest in engaging with the incoming government.
In a message posted on social media, Rubio said: “Congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its leader, Tarique Rahman, as well as the people of Bangladesh. The United States looks forward to working with the newly elected government to advance regional security and prosperity.”
The statement underscored the United States’ intention to strengthen bilateral ties with Bangladesh’s new administration and to cooperate on shared regional priorities.
