Police have arrested Muhammad Asadullah, central joint convener of Jatiya Juba Shakti, the youth wing of the National Citizen Party, in Pabna.
Asadullah, son of Akmal Shikdar, was arrested late Friday night from his house in Syedpur village under Hatkhali Union of Sujanagar upazila.
According to Asadullah’s family, he was arrested after police were allegedly called in to harass him in connection with an old case. The family has demanded his immediate release.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sujanagar Police Station, Mojibur Rahman, said Asadullah was arrested in connection with a 2024 loan-related case in which he is a warrant-listed accused. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested him and later sent him to court.
