Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of Tarique Rahman as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Sources at the Indian High Commission confirmed that the delegation will attend the ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, February 17.
It is also learnt that on Saturday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted the invitation sent by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus of the interim government.
However, sources said an AI Summit is taking place in India at the same time, with around 20 heads of state expected to attend, including French President Emmanuel Macron. As a result, Birla and Mishri will represent India at the ceremony instead of Prime Minister Modi.
