The 11-party electoral alliance, led by Jamaat-e-Islami, will hold a protest rally in Dhaka, citing post-election violence across the country, including torture, oppression, killings, and sexual assaults. The rally and procession are scheduled for Monday at 4:30 pm at the north gate of the National Baitul Mukarram Mosque.
Top leaders of the alliance, including Jamaat Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman, are expected to attend the protest.
In the 13th national parliamentary election held on February 12, the Jamaat-led alliance won 77 out of 299 seats. Among the partners, Jamaat secured a record 68 seats, the National Citizen Party (NCP) won 6 seats, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis won 2 seats, and Khelafat Majlis won 1 seat.
