The remaining contractual tenure of M Siraj Uddin Mia, Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser, has been cancelled. A notification cancelling his appointment was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday night (February 16).
Earlier, Siraj Uddin submitted his resignation letter to the Chief Adviser.
Previously, on Saturday (February 14), the government cancelled the remaining contractual tenure of Sheikh Abdur Rashid, who had been serving as Cabinet Secretary, after he submitted his resignation. On the same day, M Siraj Uddin Mia, then Principal Secretary at the Chief Adviser’s Office, was assigned the additional responsibility of Cabinet Secretary alongside his existing post through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration. However, two days later, he also submitted his resignation.
Former bureaucrat Md Siraj Uddin Mia had been appointed Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser on a two-year contractual basis on October 2, 2024. Accordingly, his tenure was scheduled to continue until September this year.
