ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, MP from Chandpur-1 and former state minister of education, has been invited to take oath as a cabinet member in the BNP government. Milon confirmed the information to Jago News on Tuesday (February 17) morning.
Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, MP from Lakshmipur-3 and joint secretary general of the BNP, has also received an invitation to take oath as a cabinet member. A close associate said the cabinet secretariat conveyed the news to Anee via a telephone call.
Meanwhile, Aminul Haque, a former footballer and the Sports Affairs Secretary of the BNP’s central executive committee as well as convener of Dhaka North BNP, has been invited to take oath as a cabinet member under the technocrat quota. A close source confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Aminul contested the 13th National Parliament election from the Dhaka-16 constituency as a BNP-nominated candidate but was defeated by Jamaat-e-Islami–nominated Colonel (retd) Md Abdul Baten.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin will administer the oath to the new cabinet members at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad at 4:00 pm.
