Several senior leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party have been appointed as advisers to the Prime Minister with the status of ministers and state ministers, amid discussion over the absence of some top names in the new cabinet.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday night.
According to the notification, BNP standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan and Mirza Abbas, senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Md Ismail Zabiullah and Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir have been appointed as advisers with the status of ministers.
In addition, Humayun Kabir, Brigadier General (retd) Shamsul Islam, Dr Zahedur Rahman, Dr Mahadi Amin and Rehan Asif Asad have been appointed as advisers with the status of state ministers.
The appointments come as the new government completes the formation of its extended executive team following the swearing-in of the cabinet.
