PM gets PS, APS, Protocol Officer

The Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday issued separate notifications appointing key officials to assist Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

According to the notifications, Joint Secretary Mia Muhammad Ashraf Reza Faridi has been appointed as Private Secretary (PS)-1 to the Prime Minister. 

The order will remain effective as long as the Prime Minister holds office or until further instructions are issued.

Senior Assistant Secretary Mohammad Mamun Shibli has been appointed as Assistant Private Secretary (APS)-1, while Senior Assistant Secretary Md Ujjal Hossain has been designated as Protocol Officer-1. Their appointments will also remain valid during the Prime Minister’s tenure or until otherwise directed.

Earlier in the day, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) formed the government after securing more than a two-thirds majority in the 13th National Parliament elections. A 50-member cabinet, comprising 25 ministers and 24 state ministers, was sworn in.

The BNP has returned to power for the fourth time after two decades, with party chairman Tarique Rahman assuming office as Prime Minister for the first time.
