219 shotgun cartridges recovered from police station pond

A total of 219 intact shotgun cartridges were recovered from a pond at Daganbhuiyan Police Station in Feni on Sunday (February 22) after the pond was drained.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Sonagazi Circle), Syed Mumid Raihan, confirmed the matter.

He said police had received information from a source that some weapons, which had gone missing during the mass uprising, were hidden in the pond at Daganbhuiyan Police Station. Based on this information, the pond was drained, and at one stage, 219 intact shotgun cartridges were recovered.

He further stated that the cartridges bear the inscription “Bangladesh Police.” As the search operation is still ongoing, detailed information cannot yet be disclosed.
