Troubled crooner in fresh storm: Nobel arrested again

Just when the noise around him seemed to fade, Mainul Ahsan Nobel is back in headlines, and not for a new release.

The controversial vocalist was arrested around 12:30 pm on Monday from the Battala area under Siddhirganj Police Station, acting on a court-issued warrant.

Demra Police confirmed the detention, saying he was picked up following specific information about his whereabouts.

The case against him dates back to August 13 last year, when a young woman filed a complaint in court. According to the case statement, she alleges that Nobel lured her to his studio with a promise of marriage and kept her there for a day.

The complaint further claims she was pressured to take objectionable photos and videos during that time.

The court later handed the investigation to the Police Bureau of Investigation. After reviewing the findings submitted on February 2, the court issued arrest warrants against Nobel and four others on the same day.

Police officials say he has been arrested in compliance with that warrant and is being sent to court as legal proceedings continue.

For an artiste whose career once soared on reality show fame and viral performances, controversy has become an almost constant companion.

This latest development adds another serious legal battle to a name that rarely stays away from public scrutiny for long.
