The price of a 12kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder has been reduced by Tk 15 following a fresh adjustment in the value-added tax (VAT) structure.
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday, February 24.
According to the notification, the new price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been set at Tk 1,341, down from Tk 1,356 fixed earlier this month.
The price revision comes after the National Board of Revenue withdrew VAT at the production stage and imposed it at the import stage, prompting a realignment of consumer-level prices for both government and privately marketed LPG.
Following the new pricing structure, LPG cylinder prices have been set at Tk 1,397 for 12.5kg, Tk 1,667 for 15kg, Tk 1,789 for 16kg, Tk 2,012 for 18kg, Tk 2,236 for 20kg, Tk 2,459 for 22kg, Tk 2,795 for 25kg, Tk 3,354 for 30kg, Tk 3,689 for 33kg, Tk 3,913 for 35kg and Tk 5,031 for 45kg cylinders.
