The annual general assembly of JCI Dhaka South was held on Wednesday at the Gulshan Club in the capital, marking a leadership transition for the 2026 term.
At the ceremony, Md Naeem Haider was formally announced as the Local President of JCI Dhaka South for 2026. He received the presidential chain from outgoing President and Immediate Past Local President Kazi Motahazzad Billah in a symbolic handover.
The event was attended by JCI Bangladesh National President Arefeen Raafi Ahmed, along with national officers, past presidents and distinguished community leaders.
In his address, Naeem Haider pledged to strengthen youth leadership and expand business networking opportunities within the organisation. He also emphasised his commitment to implementing impactful community development initiatives to ensure sustainable growth in the Dhaka South region.
The newly announced board for 2026 includes Mahbubur Rahman Tarique as Local Executive Vice President. Niaz Hasnat Shaon, Syed Nabil Ahmed, Md Hadiuzzaman Hadi and Zeenat Sultan will serve as Local Vice Presidents.
Minhaz Uddin Ahmed Shanto has been appointed Local Secretary General, while Dr Mohammad Ali will serve as Local Treasurer. Kazi Nishat will act as General Legal Counsel, and Mohammad Baijed as Local Training Commissioner.
The leadership team also features Md Shakhawat Hossain as JCI In Business (JIB) Chairperson and Local Directors Syed Rashidul Imam Ashik, Emmanuel D Rozario and Fuad Hossain Chowdhury. Md Zahidul Islam will serve as Executive Assistant to the Local President for the 2026 tenure.
Under the theme “Lead. Connect. Evolve.”, JCI Dhaka South iterated its commitment to empowering young active citizens and fostering positive change as a core chapter of JCI Bangladesh.
