Pakistan has claimed that 133 Afghan Taliban forces have been killed and twenty-seven posts destroyed.

“A total of 133 Afghan Taliban are confirmed killed, more than 200 wounded. Many more casualties estimated in strikes in Kabul, Paktia and Kandahar military targets,” according to a post on X by Mosharraf Zaidi, spokesperson for Pakistan’s prime minister, on Friday.

Mosharraf Zaidi said, “Twenty-seven Afghan Taliban posts have been destroyed, and nine have been captured.”

“Two Corps Headquartes, three Brigade Headquarters, two ammunition depots, one logistics base, three battalion headquarters, two sector headquarters and more than eighty tanks, artillery, and armed personnel carriers have been destroyed. Pakistan’s immediate and effective response to aggression continues,” he added.

Notably, Pakistan bombed major cities in Afghanistan, including the capital, Kabul, on Friday, with Islamabad’s defence minister declaring “open war” after Afghan forces reportedly attacked Pakistani border troops on Thursday night.
