Two gunmen opened fire at the house of a garment businessman in the capital’s Uttara, though no casualties were reported.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (March 10) evening at House No. 2 on Road No. 21 in Sector 7. Two helmet-wearing assailants arrived on a motorcycle and fired two rounds before fleeing the scene.
The four-storey house targeted in the attack is named Jannat. It belongs to Abul Kashem, the managing director (MD) of AKSB Group.
Local residents said two men arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire. Police later recovered two fresh bullet shells from in front of the house.
CCTV footage shows that two helmeted individuals came to the house on a white motorcycle and initially conducted reconnaissance. Seeing people moving on the road in front of the house, they left the area. Later, when pedestrian movement decreased, they returned, fired shots, and fled through a nearby alley.
Md Muniruzzaman, inspector (investigation) of Uttara West Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said the two men fired two rounds at the gate of the house. No casualties were reported in the incident.
After news of the shooting spread, members of law enforcement agencies visited the spot and collected CCTV footage and other evidence.
