Police arrested Dhaka University teacher prof AKM Jamal Uddin on Wednesday, March 11, in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Mostafa Kamal Khan, officer-in-charge of Paltan model police station, confirmed the arrest to Jago News.
On February 15, the Sociology teacher was assaulted while visiting the home of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondai 32 in the capital.
At that time, the police said agitated people assaulted him when he went to Dhanmondi 32 after announcing a 'mass crying' programme on Facebook. Later, the law enforcers rescued him.
