Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first against Pakistan in the second ODI at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday. Bangladesh is fielding the same XI as in the previous match, while Pakistan has made one change, replacing spinner Abrar Ahmed with Haris Rauf.
If Bangladesh wins this match, they will secure the series victory with one game to spare. Along with the series win, Bangladesh will also climb the ICC rankings. Currently, the gap in rating points between Bangladesh and 9th-ranked West Indies is just one point. A win today would take Bangladesh’s rating points to 79, moving them up to 9th place, while a 3-0 series sweep would raise it to 81 points. England, ranked 8th, currently has 88 points.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Bangladesh achieved a dominant victory in the first ODI, bundling Pakistan out for just 114 runs and winning with 209 balls to spare under the captaincy of Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
