The condition of Mirza Abbas, a BNP Standing Committee member and political adviser to the prime minister, has deteriorated, and brain surgery on him has begun at Evercare Hospital Dhaka in the capital. As the operation is currently underway, he is not being taken to Singapore for the time being.
BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to Jago News on Friday (March 13) afternoon. He said the surgery on Mirza Abbas, who has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital, began under the supervision of a medical board formed by the attending physicians.
Earlier, there had been a plan to take him to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced treatment. However, the plan has been postponed for now as the operation has started.
Quoting Mirza Abbas’s son Mirza Yasir Abbas, Shairul Kabir Khan said the family and the party have sought prayers from the people of the country for his speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the hospital to inquire about Mirza Abbas’s physical condition.
