The government has appointed new deputy commissioners in five districts – Gazipur, Chapainawabganj, Panchagarh, Kushtia and Netrakona – as part of a routine administrative reshuffle.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday, the changes were made to strengthen district-level administration and ensure continuity in government services.
Md Nurul Karim Bhuiyan, currently serving as a deputy secretary at the Local Government Division, has been appointed the deputy commissioner of Gazipur.
Abu Saleh Md Musa Jangi, who had been working as a director at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, has been posted as the deputy commissioner of Chapainawabganj.
Shukria Parvin, a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, has been appointed deputy commissioner of Panchagarh.
Md Touhid Bin Hasan, currently serving as a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, has been made the deputy commissioner of Kushtia.
Meanwhile, Khandakar Mushfiqur Rahman, a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, has been appointed deputy commissioner of Netrakona.
Officials said such administrative reshuffles are carried out periodically to maintain efficiency in district administration and implement government policies at the field level.
