No lottery in school admission: Minister

The lottery system will no longer be used to admit students to public and private schools, said Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon.

He announced this at a press conference at the Secondary and Higher Education Division on Monday, March 16.

"We have decided to admit students through exams from next year. The exams will not be difficult. Students will be admitted through a simple test," Milon said.

When asked whether the coaching business or lobbying would increase if admission tests were held in schools, the minister replied guardians have no reason to worry, as the tests will be simple.
