568 tins of adulterated jaggery seized in Kushtia

A mobile court has seized approximately 568 tins of adulterated jaggery from a factory in Kushtia's Khoksa and fined its owner Tk 1 lakh.

Tasnim Jahan, assistant commissioner (Land), Khoksa, conducted the mobile court at the jaggery-making factory on the Kalibari Road in Khoksa municipality on Tuesday afternoon, March 17.

Confirming the matter, she said a factory owner has been fined Tk 1 lakh for making adulterated jaggery with sugar and other harmful ingredients.

The seized tins of jaggery have been kept under the custody of local elites, and some have been sent to the laboratory for sample testing, she added.
