No traffic congestion was reported in Cumilla on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway on the second day of Eid journey on Wednesday, March 18, bringing relief for holidaymakers.
However, traffic pressure increased on the busy highway today.
Visiting Chandina, Madhaiya, Iliotganj, Nimsar bazaars, Gouripur bus stand, Paduar Bazar Bishwaroad areas on the highway, this correspondent found vehicular movement normal.
Expressing his satisfaction, Muntasim Billah, the driver of a Star Line Paribahan bus, said this year he experienced no suffering and police harassment on the road.
Naima Sultana, a passenger of a Tisha Paribahan bus, said it took just two and a half hours to come to Cumilla from Dhaka hassle-free.
Police are on alert to ease passengers' sufferings during the Eid journey and will do their best to make the journey joyful, said Shahinur Alam, superintendent of police of Cumilla region.
