The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has announced that primary schools will remain open on 10 Saturdays this year aiming to mitigate the learning gaps caused by the month-long Ramadan holiday.
In a circular signed by Deputy Director Md Zainal Abedin on Tuesday, March 24, the ministry instructed schools to hold teaching sessions on selected Saturdays.
The school authorities were asked to take necessary steps to implement the Saturday classes effectively and ensure students receive the missed instruction.
On March 16, the Ministry directed the Directorate of Primary Education to organise teaching activities on the next 10 Saturdays after Ramadan, once regular classes resumed, to make up for the disruption caused by the closures.
