A July warrior was stabbed to death at Kabita Chattar point on Cox’s Bazar beach on Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 10:30 pm.
The deceased was identified as Khorshed Alam, 26, a resident of Ghona area in Isulur, Sadar Upazila, Cox’s Bazar, and the son of Shah Alam. He was actively involved in the politics of Chhatra Dal in Cox’s Bazar.
Following the attack, police took a woman, Tarin, who was with him at the time, into custody for questioning. Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Chamiuddin, confirmed the matter.
According to police and eyewitnesses, Khorshed Alam was attacked by some miscreants while at Kabita Chattar. He sustained serious stab wounds. Friends and classmates rushed him to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, where duty doctors examined him and declared him dead. Preliminary reports indicate he suffered stab wounds to his abdomen and leg.
The body of the deceased has been kept at the morgue of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. Authorities said legal proceedings regarding the incident are underway.
