The government is purchasing necessary fuel from the international market to ensure an uninterrupted supply of petroleum products according to demand. Therefore, there is no possibility of a fuel supply shortage, a video message posted Saturday (March 28) evening on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources stated. Several awareness videos were also shared at the same time.
In another video, officials emphasized that petrol, octane, and diesel are highly flammable and storing them is extremely dangerous. Citizens were urged to avoid illegal stockpiling of fuel.
The message also noted that the government has not increased fuel prices, and therefore, fuel should not be hoarded in hopes of making extra profit.
Supply and storage of fuel across the country remain normal. Citizens were advised not to purchase excessive fuel out of panic.
The videos further warned that legal action is being taken against illegal fuel hoarding. Mobile courts, led by executive magistrates, are operating in every district to enforce the law.
