The prosecution has petitioned the International Crimes Tribunal to show retired Army officials Masud Uddin Chowdhury and Mamun Khaled, arrested in cases over genocide during the July Uprising and enforced disappearances.
Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim confirmed the application was submitted on Sunday, March 29.
The petition seeks the arrest of Lieutenant General (retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled, former Director General of the DGFI, on charges of enforced disappearances during the Awami League administration.
It also names Lieutenant General (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury, former General Officer Commanding of the 9th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army, accused of genocide in connection with incidents during the July 2024 Uprising.
Prosecutor Tamim stated the tribunal is expected to consider the application during Sunday's hearing.
