The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations for this year are likely to begin on June 7. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has tentatively set this date, with the final schedule to be prepared after approval from the Ministry of Education.
The decision was made on Sunday (March 29) during a meeting of board chairmen at the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education. A chairman who attended the meeting confirmed the information.
He said, “Considering the directives given by the Education Minister in the latest meeting and the overall situation, the start date of the examination has been set for June 7. Once the Education Minister approves this decision, the final schedule will be prepared and published soon.”
Additionally, from this year, the HSC examinations will be conducted using common question papers across the nine general education boards in the country. The remaining two boards, Madrasa and Technical, have already been conducting exams with common question papers. With this change, all 11 boards will hold their examinations using common question papers this year.
