Gold prices rise again in local market

The price of gold in the country has increased again, with the rate of the highest-quality 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) rising by Tk 3,266, bringing the new price to Tk 244,711 per bhori.

The hike follows an increase in the price of local “tejabi” gold (pure gold) in the market.

According to the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS), the new rate came into effect from 10:00 am on Tuesday (March 31).

The decision to raise the price was made during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Tuesday morning. The committee’s chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin, later issued a notice confirming the revision.
