The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for consumers. The price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder has risen from Tk 1,341 to Tk 1,728, meaning consumers will have to spend an additional Tk 387 per cylinder starting this April.
The new prices were announced on Thursday (April 2) at 3:00 pm at the BERC office by the commission’s Chairman, Jalal Ahmed. The revised price will take effect at 6:00 pm today.
Under the revised pricing, LPG cylinders of different sizes have also been adjusted: a 5.5 kg cylinder is now Tk 792, a 12.5 kg cylinder Tk 1,801, a 15 kg cylinder Tk 2,161, a 16 kg cylinder Tk 2,305, an 18 kg cylinder Tk 2,593, and a 20 kg cylinder Tk 2,881. Larger cylinders have also seen increases: a 22 kg cylinder is Tk 3,169, a 25 kg cylinder Tk 3,601, a 30 kg cylinder Tk 4,321, a 33 kg cylinder Tk 4,753, a 35 kg cylinder Tk 5,041, and a 45 kg cylinder Tk 6,428.
In addition, the retail price of autogas has been set at Tk 79.77 per litre, including VAT.
