Three buses parked at a terminal in Cumilla city caught fire on Sunday afternoon, April 5.
The incident occurred at Cumilla central bus terminal in Jangalia area, said Sadar Dakshin police station's officer-in-charge, Md Sirajul Mostafa.
Witnesses said a few individuals were consuming drugs on the three buses of 'Royal Paribahan' around 1:30 pm, and the fire originated from a gas lighter with them. Soon after the fire broke out, they ran away. Nearby people chased them but failed to catch.
Later, fire service personnel rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control; however, the vehicles were destroyed.
Police are trying to know the cause of the fire and identify those involved in the incident, OC Sirajul said.
