Eleven more people died with measles-like symptoms in different parts of the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am on Tuesday, April 7, as the disease continued to spread.
Laboratory tests confirmed that one out of the 10 individuals died of measles, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the past 24 hours, 1,236 persons were hospitalised with suspected measles symptoms. Of them, 224 were confirmed to be infected with the disease.
From March 15 to April 7, a total of 9,883 people have been admitted to various hospitals with measles-like symptoms, with 128 diagnosed with the pathogen.
The health directorate said it has been recording measles-related data since March 15.
