Voting is underway in the by-election for the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency and the postponed election in Sherpur-3. To ensure that the elections are conducted freely, fairly, and peacefully, a total of 24 BGB platoons have been deployed across the two constituencies.
BGB Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam provided this information on Thursday (April 9), stating that under the supervision of the Mymensingh sector and management of the Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB), 16 platoons are serving as mobile and static forces in Sherpur district’s Sreebardi and Jhenaigati upazilas.
He added that 8 platoons from the Naogaon Battalion (16 BGB) and Patnitala Battalion (14 BGB) are serving as mobile and static forces in the Bogura by-election.
According to the Election Commission’s directives, BGB personnel will continue patrolling and maintaining law and order until April 11.
