A young man stabbed three people during an altercation over standing in a queue to refuel their vehicles at a filling station in Gaibandha's Palashbari on Thursday, April 9.
The injured have been identified as Kawsar, 25, Jahid, 23, and Sihab, 22, while the accused is Rezwan, 27.
Witnesses said a few youths locked into an altercation with Rezwan over standing in a row at M/s Palashbari Filling Station around 11:45 am, and at one stage, Rezwan stabbed three of them.
Locals rushed the injured to a hospital in Palashbari, and of them, one was later sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital after his condition deteriorated.
Being informed about the incident over a trivial matter, police personnel immediately responded and brought the situation under control, said Palashbari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sheikh Jaber Ahmed.
A person has been detained in connection with the incident, he said.
