‘Fuel Pass’ app trial to begin at two Dhaka filling stations

To bring discipline to fuel distribution, the sale of fuel through the ‘Fuel Pass’ app is being introduced on a trial basis at two filling stations in the capital.

Monir Hossain Chowdhury, spokesperson for the Energy and Mineral Resources Division and Joint Secretary (Operations), disclosed the information at a press conference on the overall energy situation held at the Secretariat on Thursday (April 9).

He said the pilot programme has been launched at two filling stations—Sonar Bangla at Asadgate and Trust Filling Station in Tejgaon. “We are already receiving a strong response, with many users registering. I believe the number of registrations has exceeded 10,000,” he added.

The Joint Secretary further noted that the process will take some time. “We have initially focused on motorcycles and started the programme at two filling stations. Gradually, we hope to expand it across Dhaka and eventually replicate it nationwide,” he said.
