A mobile court seized 709 litres of illegally stored diesel in Salanga upazila of Sirajganj and sentenced two traders to imprisonment.
The drive was conducted in the Sahebganj Bazar area on Thursday night.
The court, led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Umme Naznin Nishat of the district administration, conducted a drive in the area around 10:00 pm and recovered 5 litres of mobil oil, 8 litres of soybean oil, and 42 litres of rice bran oil from there.
Two traders were each sentenced to two months of simple imprisonment and fined Tk 100 for illegal fuel storage, said Umme Naznin Nishat.
The seized diesel was later sold to a nearby M/s Samabay Filling Station in accordance with procedures, she said, adding that the recovered edible oils were handed over to the manager of the same filling station for safekeeping.
Police, RAB personnel, and officials from relevant departments were present during the operation.
