Professor Dr Abdus Salam has been appointed as the Pro-Vice Chancellor (academic) of the University of Dhaka for a four-year term.
An official notification, signed by ASM Kasem, Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education, was issued in this regard on Monday, April 13.
According to the notification, the appointment was made with the approval of the President of Bangladesh, who also serves as the Chancellor of the university.
Abdus Salam is currently serving as the acting Dean of the university's Faculty of Science. He is also associated with the university’s BNP-aligned teachers’ forum, the White Panel.
