Gold price rises by Tk 2,216 per bhori

The price of gold in the country has been increased by Tk 2,216 per bhori, with 22-carat gold now priced at Tk 250,193 per bhori (11.664 grams).

The new rates came into effect from 10:00 am on Wednesday, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, and later confirmed in a press release signed by committee chairman Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.

Earlier on April 9, gold prices were reduced by Tk 4,432 per bhori for 22-carat gold, along with similar adjustments across other categories.

With the latest revision, the price of 21-carat gold has increased to Tk 238,820 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been set at Tk 204,703 per bhori. Traditional gold is now priced at Tk 166,737 per bhori.

Silver prices were also adjusted upward alongside gold. The price of 22-carat silver has been set at Tk 6,065 per bhori. The price of 21-carat silver now stands at Tk 5,774 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 4,957 per bhori, and traditional silver at Tk 3,732 per bhori, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association added.
