CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers lift blockade after 6 hrs

CNG-powered auto-rickshaw drivers withdrew their blockade on the road in front of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) headquarters at Banani in Dhaka after around six hours.

The vehicular movement returned to normal on the Mohakhali-Uttara route as the protesters lifted their blockade after 6:00pm on Sunday, Banani police station's officer-in-charge Md Sarwar told Jago News.

The drivers blocked both sides of the busy Banani road in front of BRTA office around 12:00pm demanding clear and fixed route allocations for their vehicles in the Dhaka metropolitan area, bringing traffic to a complete standstill.
